API Integration Consulting
Discovery through first production cutover for teams connecting partner or internal APIs who need clear contracts and a staged rollout.
Who this is for
Engineering and product leads who must connect payment, logistics, CRM, marketplace, or internal APIs under a real deadline — and who lack a shared map of payloads, ownership, and failure modes.
Result you should expect
By the end of the engagement you have: an agreed contract map (requests, events, auth, retries), a sequenced cutover plan, reviewed interface designs, and runbook notes your team can maintain. We do not replace your developers; we accelerate the decisions that usually stall integrations.
Scope included
- Stakeholder interviews and inventory of current integrations
- Contract and event modelling workshops with your engineers
- Review of authentication, idempotency, and error handling approaches
- Cutover sequencing and rollback criteria
- Written handover: decisions, open risks, and suggested backlog items
Out of scope
- Long-term staff augmentation or ticket queues
- Building a SaaS product for you to resell
- Guaranteeing third-party vendor SLA changes
- Production on-call after the agreed cutover window
Provider & process
Led by OakCore’s principal consultant with optional associate support for larger inventories. Typical rhythm:
- Week 1 — Discovery sessions and draft contract map
- Weeks 2–4 — Design reviews, spike support, and cutover planning
- Final week — Production cutover support window and handover pack
Duration & delivery
Most programmes run three to six weeks depending on the number of partner endpoints and whether legacy systems need transitional adapters. Delivery is Sydney on-site when useful, otherwise remote across Australian time zones.
Preparation
Please share OpenAPI/AsyncAPI drafts if they exist, sample payloads, known failure tickets, and a named owner for each system. Without owners, we will flag that as a risk before quoting.
Pricing basis
Quoted as a fixed scope for a defined inventory of endpoints, or as a weekly rate when discovery is still open. See Rates for indicative figures. Next step: request a scoping call.
